I was talking to someone the other day and they said it was possible to put a normal houlhold fan in your duct work to help suck the heat to areas of your house that always seem to be cold. Is this possible? If so what kind of fan would I look for?

I don't know quite how you'd actually install a normal household fan into the ducts but a fan is a fan is a fan so if you can do it, it certainly would work. I find it much more convenient to install one made for the purpose. They're available in a variety of sizes at your local big box stores.
