Our home is 55 years old, the basement is aoubt 7.5 feet high, the duct work is not open in the basement (cold) We are fininshing it and are using steel studding r-20 pink insulation, studding out from exterior wall to accomidate the r-20. We want to make the floor warmer and cosidering the new particle board with rubber knobs on the bottom, covered with carpet, will this work with ventalation, baseboard heating? or is there something better?
Answer:
None of them will actually make the floor warmer because of the constant temperature of the soil under the concrete at given depths so you have your choice as to what you want to put in.
