Question:

The heating & cooling company my builder decided to use has been the focus of many discussion groups for knowingly installing undersized furnaces in new homes. What size furnace should i have for a new 2 story + basement end unit townhome (1600 sq ft.)

Answer:

This has to be calculated on site because for efficiency, one must know how much window space you have, what surrounds your particular unit, etc. YOur local building authority (city hall) should be able to settle this for you because without their approval, there's no building permit.
