I recently found this site and have been going through it. I am very surprised to see your recommendation to not insulate a basement wall all the way to the floor. This seems to contradict some of your peers and also Industry Canada. Who's right?
Answer:
There are probably as many ways to approach a home improvements project as there are people doing them. I've been using my system for several decades and because it appears to reduce basement condensation, I'm not about to change it. According to what you say, my peers and Industry Canada disagree with Ontario Hydro and the Canadian National Research Council too and these folks have spent a lot of time and effort dealing with this sort of thing. Thanx for taking the time to review the site and comment.
