I purchased a home that is now 32 yrs old. I am getting condensation in the closet in master bedroom and a draft when it is cold outside ,I checked in there and found no weak spots or cracks in the walls ,it is at the far end of the house at the other wall. House is completely bricked and wall faces north with nothing but open space for at least 500 yards. How do I fix this or can I do anything from inside the closet?
Answer:
Actually, you'll do all the work from inside but it is a major project. The condensation will probably have been caused by a lack of continuous vapaour barrier over the insulation and that means taking downt he drywall, replacing the packed-down insulation, the vapour barrier and then the drywall.
