Question:
My wife and I are moving into our first home at the end of this month, and I am looking for the most effective way (both practically and fiscally) to sound deaden if not proof my new basement. I read the article on this site about soundproofing a basement for a workshop but my need is for drums. I was wondering if you would have different advice for this application as opposed to a workshop, because the sound dynamics are different ie. the "highs" of a snare drum crack and the "lows" of a bass drum thud. some ideas I have seen on other sites are the use of MDF board (with drywall but on the inside so sound does not resonate in the room) and celulose insulation not fiberglass. I figured I would get your take on this.
