Question:

I have removed the old wood siding from my home. I have wrapped it and straped it with 2X2's (I straped with 2x2's so that I could install deeper windows) I called in to your show and you suggested that I use rigid fibre insulation to insulate between the straping. I will be putting vinyl siding on.
Do I use 2" (1.5")insulation, or do I use something less to leave an air gap between the siding and the insulation.

Answer:

You should be using 1.5" insulation because that is the depth the 2X2s will permit.
Fibre insulation is either glass or mineral fibre with the housewrap already attached.
