Question:

I want to insulate my cottage so i can go there year round. The walls are 2x4 with R 10 and VB. The outside walls compressed wood fibre, I want to remove it and add 2 inch sm blue stap that then finish with pine, this will give me two VB what do I do,

Answer:

Cut back on your insulation to 1.25 inches and go ahead. Instead of R-20, you'll have R-17.5 but instead of strapping over top of it, strap between two-foot wide sheets.
