Question:

How would I get a better seal for our garage door and have a much better heat retention over the winter months?

Answer:

I would recommend that the garage door have proper weatherstripping installed around the perimeter first to control the air leakage, then I would install a garage door insulation blanket kit to the interior backside of the garage door, that would make the garage area not so cold due to the air leakage and it would keep the temperature in the garage consistant if it was a heated garage.
