We have a 3 season cottage which we would like to make a 4 season cottage in time. The cottage does not have a basement. Can you effectively insulate between the flooring joices so that plumbing does not freeze? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
Answer:
Yes absolutely, the best solution to this would be to use a product called Icynene it is a spray in place foam that expands in every nook and cranny. It would create an effective air barrier against any cold or winds, it would also make that floor much warmer. The plumbing would be encapsulated in this foam and would cause no damage to any of the pipes or duct if there were any. The bonus about this product is also that because it is being spray to the underside of the floor, the flooring has enough of a perm rating to act as a vapour barrier, which means no drop ceiling would be needed. Contact me our company sprays this product.
