Question:

Part of the house build in 1938 has the original knob & tube wiring, some of the wires coming out of the elec. panel are routed under heating ducts,to prevent the wires from touching the ducts there is some insulating material in between. I don't know what kind of insulation this is but i'm concern with asbestos and i would like to have it removed [wiring will be replaced] what is the best way to go about removing the insulation considerig there are 3 or 4 pieces of about 1 sq. feet each of this grey board i suspect contains asbestos.

Answer:

Yes, asbestos is a carcenogen and I would not handle it. There are people in your community properly trained to remove and I'd hire them.
