Question:

my home was built in the early 50's and has the original crown moulding in the living room. The previous owner put a 2 inch hole in the moulding when they installed blinds. I have removed the blinds and would like to repair the gap in the moulding. How and what do I use to restore the moulding?

Answer:

If you can find the same configuration of moulding you can cut out short portions of the one you have and replace but repairing is almost out of the question because you'd be using a pastey product and they tend to react to temperature and atmospheric humidity change by shrinking and showing the outline of the patch.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I do not recommend people or companies for various projects. Courtesy of Ren Molnar, Construction Consultant at HomeFocus.com.
