Question:

I painted dark gray bathroom walls white. I used one coat. I realized that I would need to do two coats going from dark to light, but I wanted to give the first coat a few days to really dry. There were some brown droplets running down the walls in many places! I heard you mention this on one of your shows but I can't remember as it was a while ago. So far, I have not put on the second coat as I decided to wait for your advice and do it right!

Answer:

Is it possible that you didn't prepare the surface by scrubbing it with steel wool and varsol? The film of animal fats from soap that is on all the walls and ceilings in that room needs to be removed. That is about the only thing I can think of for the brown streaks.
