We bought a house with a tub surround installed, not very old 3 years or so. As luck would have it my son decided that the handle was for more than just hanging towels on, it cracked the plastic near the towel bar.... now what can I do? Do I need to replace the whole thing or are there reapirs kits out there?

An autobody fibreglass patch kit is what you're looking for. Do a good sanding and finishing (spray paint) job on it because the fibres can otherwise cause him to leave some hide behind next time he leans on it.
