I moved into my brand new house 5 weeks ago and my bathrooms are all tiled. The grout in between the tiles is now cracking. Is this normal? Is there a sealer other than clear or white caulk I should use to prevent leaks?

There's little if any point to sealing grout that has started to break down after five weeks. Talk to the people who put it in there; nicely, at first.
