Question:

We are renovating our bathroom but our pink bathtub
is still in good condition so we would like to have it
painted white. Do you recommend painting a tub and if so,is there a company in Ottawa (Ontario) that you could recommend to do this. Or what about bathtub liners? Are these a better solution.

Answer:

I'm a bit afraid of the liners because there can hardly be completely adhering to the old tub and that means there are air gaps. Where there is air there is moisture and before long, the old tub can rust out forcing you to replace both. I'd have no qualms at all about having the old tub painted; particularly if its cast iron becaue you can't find theose any more. Suggesting a name to you though puts in the same position as the chap who dares get between a dog and fire hydrant.
