Question:

I want to replacing my worn out enamel over steel bathtub/shower, 60" x 30" and wonder if this technology tub is still a good choice? I am then thinking of installing ceramic tiles around the 3 sides of the tub and shower area. Is this still a good choice? Or do you recommend something else?

Answer:

Much improved technology now does away with tiling all together and has several other advantages. The 'single unit" construction is now availble - although it comes in three pieces for an already-built house. These units are made of either fibreglass or acrylic and are normally not quite as tall as the ceiling is high so the absolutely necessary exhaust fan can be installed on the face of the bulkhead at the fronts of them. A bit harry to install unless you're experienced but if they're not abused they can also outlast the older units. End product costs are also quite competitive.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
