Question:

Hi, my gas furnace exhaust pipe is dripping water! Where the pipe from the water heater and the furnace meet to the chimney is about 4 ft long. the pipe seems to leak from the joint by the chimney. The chimney is capped. I have a humidifier but I shut it off and it still drips. Could it be condensation from the furnace exhaust meeting the cool air at the chimney?

Answer:

Thee appears to be condensation in the chimney itself. I wonder if you have a chimney liner? Whether you do or not, this should be looked at by a qualified technician.
