Question:

I am putting in a wood stove. How far above the roof or peak must it rise for proper draft? I have a brick chimney about 25 feet away. It is 2 ft. above the peak. Will this pose a problem?

Answer:

Thirty inches higher than anything within ten feet of the chimney is good but your problem will come with the distance from the stove to the chimney. I'd contact your local building authority (city hall) for that and make very sure your insurance company knows what you're doing.
