Question:

I asked you about a spinning clothesline problem. I recently installed a 100 foot long (wire with vinyl coating; 8" wheels)long clothesline stretching between the house wall and a tree. The tree-end is quite high, so that clothes will hang well clear of the ground. The problem is that when you reel the line in or out it spins, twirling clothes around the line. The reels aren't twisting. When you pull in the line, you can feel the line twirl or turn, and clothes pegged to the lower line twirl around the lower line as you reel it in. Is there something that can be done to stop the line (as opposed to the reels) from a twirling?

Answer:

Thee are simple line separating rollers that you can put between the two wires every twenty or so feet and that will keep them apart.
