Question:

Over this winter I have found there is lots of huge icicles at the edge of the roof, even though there is an Eavestrough system in place. Not sure what is causing this build up. Hence, I was wondering if you shed some light and make some suggestions to eliminate this problem.

Answer:

The troughs fill with ice and when there is nowhere else for water to go, it overflows and freezes to the gutter itself. If you were to install an electrical element in the troughs and downspouts, that would help.
