Question:

I would like to refloor my outside deck, with a different material than the usual planking. Is there any other satisfactory material, such as indoor/outdoor carpeting, plastic composite sheeting, rubber tiles, etc, etc.

Answer:

There are a lot of products on the market for this and one of the most dependable is the snap-together tiles people are using on decks around swimming pools. The provide a good, usable surface and permit all kinds of ventilationa the latter is the bottom line when it comes to wood longevity.
