Question:

Side door is low point of house, interlock is 1 1/2" below door, grade is away from house and there is a storm door. Can I put drainage of some kind under interlock and hook into down spout underground at the front of the house? I know this will be a bit of digging, but if it stops water from coming in from around the doors in heavy rain storms I can live a little more stress free with the wife.

Answer:

Perhaps a canopy over the door would serve you better than anything. It should be long enough to go at least two feet on each side of the door so an eight footer would probably what you're looking at.
