Our house has "paint quality" trim everywhere that the previous owner has applied liquid plastic to. We would like to paint it and would like to know how to prepare it to be painted.

About the only thing you have to do is apply a primer paint that is meant for oil or water based paints and then paint it whatever colour you want. That's about the only preparation you need besides making sure all surfaces are clean and dry.
