Problem is cracks, formed on wide decorative wall to ceiling, high-density polyurethane moldings.

I've never seen a situation where such patches had to be applied but I'd try an epoxy paste and let it dry very well before sanding and painting. I just hope the epoxy doesn't eat the poly. You might want to try it first on a scrap piece if such is available.
