I am planning on changing the colour of my kitchen counter using melamine primer and paint instead of ripping it out and installing a new one. What is your opinion of melamine paint products? Do you recomend that I do this and if so do you have any useful tips please?

These paints seem to work quite well but the durability of the counter tops will not be that of a proper platic laminate so be prepared to re-do it.
