Question:

We painted over wall paneling with fire retardant paint. We have a problem with it drying, when first applied it dried in about one hour to the touch. The next day it became tacky and was giving of bad fumes, it seems to dry when the weather is not damp, but when it gets damp again it goes back to being tacky again, and with bad fumes. We were told to put a sealer over it by the manufacturer, it did not work either the sealer was one of their products. It has been three weeks painted? Have you a solution to this problem?

Answer:

Yes, get a manufacturer's rep out there and talk about replacing paint and compensation for labour because this is not supposed to happen if its applied according to instructions on the container.
