Question:

we are putting osb on our barn office walls and have been told to varnish them after sanding. What type of varnish would you recommend or is this the proper thing to do at all?(We are definitely using osb as it is already bought and was the cheapest product we could find.

Answer:

You can do almost anything to finish osb but you have to accept that there are many different types of wood in it and they absorb stains and dyes at varying rates so the finish may not be as nice as you'd like. The only thing I've found that can make it look 'normal' is clear liquid plastic.
