I installed a cedar deck at my house in Toronto (ON) last fall. I wanted to finish it in order to maintain the cedar look and I don't like the grey look very much. Since it was too cold to finish the deck last fall I would like to finish it this spring when it warms up. Should I sand the cedar, use a deck wash and then apply the stain OR wash the deck, sand and then apply the stain?

I'd leave it alone until it starts to grey and then wash it with a biodegradeable deck wash to bring it back to looking like brand new.
