I wish to repaint the exterior of our house. When our house was built in 1976, it was the fashion to stucco the exterior using the small pebble type of stucco. However I do not like the white/tan color of it and want to change it to a peachy color. There are numerous cracks in it, along corners and where the stucco meets the brick accenting around the attached garage. The cracks range from 1/4" to 1 1/2". What would you suggest is the best way to go about this project? Would you recommend spray or roller?
Answer:
Whatever you do, don't spray it. I remember Regina (Saskatchewan) as being quite windy most of the time and spray painting a house is one of the most effective ways of painting the house, car, garage and whatever else next door. Once you've patched the siding, a deep pile roller will work well on it but make sure you go through the preparation procedure described on the paint can.
