Question:

Is cushion floor the best choice for finishing a shower stall? I need details and materials to be used for installation. The shower stall is in a new home, in the basement, and not a shower tub combination. What type of backing should be installed? What quality or grade of cushion floor is?

Answer:

I'd have no problem applying any kind of sheet vinyl (cushion flooring) over 1/2" drywall just like I would to a properly prepared floor.
