Question:

We've been given this electric hot water tank that has been unused for about 3 yr. It has been stored in a dry area but I was wondering if it would be advisable to use it since it has been stored so long. If it is okay how would one hook it up?

Answer:

There is nothing wrong with using it but make sure that once you have it in line with your plumbing, it gets a good flushing. Hooking it up is simple. Put it next to the one you have now, turn water and power off and then one joint and connexion at a time, transfer the utilities to it.
