Question:

I am considering buying a 15 year old home with a pressure treated, wood foundation. There have never been any water problems. There are no odours, no mould, no water stains, no leaks. Should I expect the same performance from a pressure treated foundation as from a concrete or block foundation? What are the advantages or disadvantages?

Answer:

In fact, you can expect more and better service from the wood foundation than any other if it has lasted 15 years and not given problems. Your only thought will be to make sure you maintain a good grade along the perimeter to drain run-off water awya from it.
