Question:

We are in a 2,500 sq. ft. bungalow that is approx. 2 years old. In the the last couple of months, we have noticed that when we do laundry in the room immediately adjacent to our powder room, that water bubbles up in the toilet and gurgles. It does not spill over, but we are starting to get concerned about. Can you please tell us what is causing this and what we should do about it?

Answer:

Thee appears to be a blockage growing in laundry drain line somewhere below floor level. You might want to put a snake down there before things start to really flood.
