Question:

We have a very small deck that we would like to expand. However, in order to double its length, he have to build over the central air unit. Is this a problem, assuming the floor of the deck would be about 3-4 feet above the unit? Will the lack of air circulation cause problems with the unit?

Answer:

To keep things from falling into the fan system of the A/C unit, I'd put a sloped roof a couple of feet above it but other than that, it should be OK.
