Question:

My plumber suggests changing the controller/pressure switch before pulling out the pump. This seems to make sense to me. Not sure if it makes any difference but the controller trips during use, but also is found tripped first thing in the morning.

Answer:

Your plumber's suggestion makes sense of course. I was just dumb enough to think you had already tried that because without fail, that is the first item to suspect.
