Question:

Can you give me a couple of suggestions on the best way to re-cover or repare the roof. It is a 30 year old seamed tin material over very low profile trusses (typical mobile home). Doesn't leak at the seams, seems to be around the chimney. Tin is wavy like crazy. Being 30 years old, I'm not sure what to do or how to procede.

Answer:

First, you'll have to clean off all the old sealant that's there right down to bare metal and then you can apply new sealant meant for the purpose. Unless you clean if off properly, there is nothing that will seal it.
