Question:

We have a forty year old brick bungalow with a roof that overhangs the walls by about 2 feet. As it has started to get colder this fall we had condensation appear on our ceilings in various rooms of the house, at the edges where the inside walls meet the ceiling. Looking into the attic I have found that there is a minimal amount of old particle insulation. Could it be that we simply have to add a good layer of pink insulation to solve the problem.

Answer:

You're describing something that seems to have more to do with a lack of vapour barrier than anything else. As long as you have good ventilation coming up from the eaves, you might get away with just adding more insulation.
