I have just notice that most of the front roof shingles which are 6 years old has blisters on it. Should we be concerned about this and what should be done? The shingles are guaranteed for 20 years. We have ventilation under the eves and on both gable ends of the house.Also have the ice shield under the shingles as was recommended. The roof installer, a well know company , refuses to come see it and his work was guaranteed for 10 years!

The shingles are cooked and rather than shedding all the run-off, are now absorbing a lot of it. I have a feeling your gable-end vents aren't doing you a whole lot of good. It is nearly impossible to over ventilate the average residential attic. It is as important for air to have access to the cavity from under the eaves as it is for air to have an opportunity to exhaust as high up on the roof as possible. Proper soffit venting in combination with “U” channels and gable-to-gable baffled ridge venting appears to be the most cost effective, passive way of accomplishing this.
