Question:

Situation: -Live in the country -Have a well for water
-There is a 4" duct from the well & it comes through a basement wall. Inside the duct, there are 2 plastic pipes, each about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. In the spring, and after major rainy periods, we have water seeping into the basement. The water comes in via the duct. I have placed a funnel(attached to a hose to the sump hole)right under the duct. This keeps the water from going onto the basement floor. What can I do to stop the water from coming in this duct: is there a material that I can inject into the duct (and around these 2 plastic pipes) which will seal things?

Answer:

There are compounds on the market tht will seal it but I hope you never have to work on those lines afterwards because you'll have to excavate back to the well and replace all from there.
