I have just installed new tile around the tub in our bathroom. Is it necessary to treat the grout and tile with a sealer to prevent staining as my hardware store employee suggests? The tile retailer says it's a waste of money. What do you say?

I think the retailer would know a lot more about this sort of thing. I've never sealed grout after applying it except if it was on a kitchen counter.
