Question:

I recently put up new doors and trim in my bathroom and I accidently used a silicon based to touch up some of the trim sealing. I initially used the correct caulking but ran out and used another which I thought was paintable. It is not Paintable. Can I remove the silicon based caulking? If I can't I have to change not only the trim but the frame of the door!

Answer:

There are silicone neutralizers on the market and your favorite hardware store will be able to help you with them. You'll probably have to do some sanding before you prime and paint the spots that you take it off.
