Question:

I have a 3 year old daughter that found a black marker in the house. She used it on our kitchen cabinet door. It was a permanent marker. The cabinets are maple with a cherry wood finish. Do I have to call the cabinet maker, or can I get it out myself?

Answer:

You might be able to wipe much of it off with a shot of hair spray. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid the doors will have to be stripped and re-finished - this is also a DIY project.
