Question:

I was gently wiping down my family room walls which are sort of dark red-orange colour with just warm water and a sponge and then went over it again with a dry cloth and I can see everywhere/every stroke that I have done. I am getting really 'PO'ed' as I do not know how to get rid of these. One wall I went over at least three times.

Answer:

The walls apparently have a coating of some form of grease on them. Try wiping off with a neutralizer and then warm water and a soft cloth.
