I'm planning on adding a storage room in my garage. I was curious as to what I could use for the walls. The garage is a bit humid and I noticed one of the walls finished in drywall is falling apart at the bottom (2 - 3 feet off the ground). I was thinking of using the blue drywall for the first 3 - 4 feet and then regular drywall. Would this help or simply push back my problem by a few years?
Answer:
You'll first have to track down why that the area has a moisture problem becuase no matter what you use on the walls, if there's a moisture problem, everything in there will absorb it. Once you address that, you'll be able to use whatever you like.
