My house is 26' x 58' with no basement, but a 3' pony wall. (crawl space) I want to build an addition onto one end of my home 26' x 26'. How do I attach my addition pony wall onto my house pony wall good enough that it won't separate from the house. Our soil is heavy gumble and we have a terrible problem with building shifting. That is why I never put a basement under my house. The house is located on the farm so we do not need any kind of building permits.
The closest you'll come to a solid connexion is by bolting one to the other but you're now talking about an old wall attached to a new wall. Besides the old one having somewhat settled (yes, even in gumbo)and the new one needing a few years to settle to that level. You're also looking a much larger footprint so don't be surprised if they separate.
