Question:

I called into your show earlier, about a leaky basement. Your advice to me was to check the transition areas; where the siding meets the brick, and where the brick meets the foundation. I have done this and there are no apparent flaws. My builder recommends getting the brick wall sprayed with a breathable product? Do you think this is a good idea? Are there any alternatives?

Answer:

I don't see what good spraying the wall will do if the leak is in the basement wall. You may need to talk to another contractor.
