Question:

I have a home cabinet shop and build primarily furniture type projects for ourselves. I have an 18 gauge brad nailer and find for some projects it is quite light and the nails, particlularly the longer ones (1.5 - 2") bend easily when using hardwoods so I have been looking at a 16 gauge finish nailer. Can you tell me the difference between an 18 gauge brad nailer and a 16 gauge finish nailer and would that eliminate or at least reduce my bending problem

Answer:

Mine too is a 16 and I've had no problems with it in the same kind of work you're talking about. I've not seen, nor could justify going to anything heavier so I would be the wrong one to be giving you advice on this.
