Question:

I'm stripping wallpaper & have discovered that the drywall was not primed before the wallpaper was put up. I've encountered this before so I've learned not to apply too much water to the wallpaper in order to avoid removing the top layer of paper on the drywall, but I'm still removing some of the drywall paper. Any other suggestions?

Answer:

I don't even know if a tool known as a "Wild cat" will do it for you. This is a tool with three burred balls on it and it fits the palm of your hand. The balls operate on the same principle as roll-on deodorant and they make a mess of the wallpaper so a blistering compound can do a job on it.
