Question:

1)I want to permanently block out a 6" hole in the exterior block wall. How do I proceed with this?

2)I want to do drill a 6" hole in the exterior block wall somewhere else in the basement in order to install a humidistat. How do I proceed?

3) Should I use the humidistat in the winter?

Answer:

I suggest using the humidistat year 'round and as for blocking holes in concrete, the best product to use is a stiff mixture of pre-mixed concrete mix. Drilling a 6" hole in concrete will best be done with equipment you rent from a rental outlet. I'm taking for granted that these holes are 6" diameter rather than some other size and six inches deep.
